How to carry on with creative processes in a state of emergency? How to make things together under conditions of isolation? How to continue international collaboration at a distance? How to think and work together across geographical borders during a pandemic?
Join us in Hanasaari or online for a half day seminar focusing on new forms of artistic collaborations. The event will be hosted by Pauliina Ståhlberg, Director of the Finnish Institute in Madrid. The seminar will be held in English, and it is held in conjunction with the Elastic Alliances exhibition on view at Gallery Hanasaari.
The seminar brings forth processes and collaboration models behind the projects presented in the Elastic Alliances exhibition in two panel discussions. The exhibition presents fragments of eight international collaborative projects created as part of the Together Alone 2.0 project organised by the Finnish Cultural and Academic Institutes. Read more about the exhibition here. The seminar also features a keynote speech on forms of international artistic collaboration (TBC)
All of the panelists are artists participating in the Elastic Alliances exhibition: Jaana Pirskanen, David Kozma, Milena Oksanen, Minna Pöllänen, Jani Kaila, Johanna Rotko, Meriam Trabelsi, and Ellie Hunter (virtually). The panels are moderated by Elina Suoyrjö, Director of Programs at the Finnish Cultural Institute in New York.
