The video documentary #TAKEMEANYWHERE by LeBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner collective will be screened at Manchester Film Festival.
The film shows the one month long hitch hiking trip artists Nastja Säde Rönkkö (FIN), Shia LaBeouf (USA) and Luke Turner (UK) did in North America in 2016. Anyone could pick them up and their coordinates and route were updated daily on social media.
During Manchester Film festival the artists will be taking part in a discussion event, where they share more about the work and their creative process.
LaBeouf, Rönkkö & Turner is known for projects that look into contemporary social relationships and trust. In 2017 the collective’s performance #ALONETOGETHER was exhibited at ARS17 in Kiasma and raised a lot of media attention in Finland and abroad.
The themes of trust and intimacy with strangers, which are central in the #TAKEMEANYWHERE project, are also key themes connecting the solo works of the Finnish artist Nastja Säde Rönkkö. She is currently working on new material in a residency at Wysing Arts Centre in Cambridgeshire with the support of the Finnish Institute in London.
