THE FINNISH INSTITUTE IN LONDON

Our mission is to create positive change through culture, knowledge and art. We work in the fields of art, culture and society, and we collaborate with artists, researchers, experts and policy makers in the United Kingdom, Finland and the Republic of Ireland. We also act as a catalyst for positive social change through our partnerships.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

5 to 6 month internship within the Administration at the Finnish Institute in London.

DESCRIPTION OF PLACEMENT

The intern will support the Administrator in daily duties. Work at the Institute is often fast-paced, requiring multi-tasking, prioritising skills and a “can do” attitude. Typical tasks include managing Visma Fivaldi, paying bills, using the UK online bank, going through monthly bank statements, being responsible for petty cash, organizing board meeting materials, assisting the Director, archiving, and managing daily internal office routines. We value initiative, teamwork, flexibility and organisational skills. Excellent skills in business administration, Finnish and English are essential.

DATES

We are looking for one intern, starting 27. August 2019 to 31. January 2020. The dates are negotiable.

FUNDING

The selected intern must be able to secure funding for the internship him/herself. Previous interns have secured funding for example through their universities, the Erasmus programme or the employment office (työelämävalmennus). The Institute is unable to accept interns without a source of funding. The Institute will, however, support the internship by supplying a monthly travel card for Transport for London (zones 1-2).

HOW TO APPLY

The application must include a CV and a motivation letter in English, stating why you are interested in an internship at the Institute. These should be sent by Wednesday 12.6.2019 to anita.rockman@fininst.uk. Please note that we accept applications by email only.

If you have any further questions, please email them to anita.rockman@fininst.uk
