Basic Forms: Reimagining Public Space

Join artist and designer Päivi Raivio and author Tim Gill for a screening and conversation on playful urban design in partnership with London Design Festival.

Following the launch of Basic Forms (of Urban Life) as part of the Play Make Do festival, this event brings together award-winning artist and designer Päivi Raivio and Tim Gill, author of Urban Playground: How Child-Friendly Planning and Design Can Save Cities, in partnership with London Design Festival.

The event will begin with a screening of documentation from Basic Forms (of Urban Life), followed by a conversation and an audience Q&A.

Together, they will explore how playful design can challenge conventional approaches to urban planning, encourage participation across generations and help create cities that are more inclusive, responsive and enjoyable for the people who use them.

The event is produced in collaboration with the Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland.
